Unreliable modem. (I've had 2 of them now)

The Bottom Line: Get SMC model SMC8004CM instead. This D-Link DCM-202 is a pain. Unfortunately the SMC8004CM is not found on epinions at the time of this writing.
Review: I originally purchased this for my brother. I was initially impressed by the small size so instead of provisioning it for him, I decided to keep it & set him up with my very reliable Toshiba pcx2200.

1st problem:
Would not link up...

SUPER modem... ditch the cable company's junk!

The Bottom Line: Unequivocally, buy this modem. It is the fastest I have used, and I have had no reliability problems with it.

Neither Fail-Safe nor Fail-Seldom

Review: Made in China. That should say it all. I had this modem for just over a year. Pointedly, that took it just beyond the warranty. While it lasted, it ran well, but hot. Then, the converter in the AC power cord failed, nearly bursting into flames...
