Please don't waste your time on this phone...

The Bottom Line: Do not buy this phone unless all you want to do is make and receive phone calls. All other functions work only now and then. Not worth it.
I bought this phone mainly because it was cheap (69.99 plus tax) at Best Buy. I brought it home with the not unrealistic expectation that it should be able to do function correctly and work like it says on the box...you know, caller id, voice mail waiting indicator, etc. These are the things we have come to expect on most cordless phones today. I was also excite4d about having the DECT 6.0 frequency, as I had replaced phones already with the 5.8 frequency so as not to interfere with my home network. After setting it up, (and this was quite a complicated endeavor), I was amazed to see that it simply does not work properly. I thought I got a dud, but after looking at the other reviews, I see I am not the only one.
Let me list the ways I hate this phone...
1. Very complicated set-up on the handset. It doesn't make sense the complex set of buttons one must press to select rings for specific callers, etc. It is completely illogical. There is a program button on one side, with arrows that one uses to scroll through the menu, but the exit button is on the bottom of the key pad, and not easy to see. I kept pressing the talk button for OK, which only turned on the phone. I had to actually look at the user guide. It is just not a user-friendly phone.
2. The voice mail indicator either doesn't blink when there is voice mail, or it blinks forever when I have deleted the voice mail and know for a fact that there is no voice mail. I have even checked (on the voice mail system) for hours after deleting the voice mail, and the &@#$ phone still blinks.
3. The caller id hardly ever works. When the phone rings, it takes three or so rings for it to show the caller, or it just says, inexplicably, "incomplete data." So, after spending an hour with the user guide trying to fix a ringtone so I will know when certain people are calling (and thereby be able to ignore them if I like), the phone rings the normal ring and displays "incomplete data," so I have to answer at my own risk. Grrr! Never, ever had this problem on any phone before in my life.
4. Every once in a while, for some unknown reason, the display lights up (and this is spooky in the night), and the light eerily glows and the display reads "no data." Huh? I have no idea what that is about. The first night after purchasing this phone, I woke up to this spooky blue light and realized it was the phone. It even scared my dog.
5. Last, but not least, the sound quality is poor.
I was talked out of a Uniden phone (the updated model of the one I had before that croaked after three years), by the sales guy at Best Buy, and talked into buying this. It is going back tomorrow.
