Whether you are a Seinfeld fan or not, you will LOVE Curb Your Enthusiasm - assuming you like clever, dry humor. The first season on DVD is a great addition to my collection. It's very accessible to the first time view and introduces you to the awkwardly troubled life of Larry David. If you're not familiar with the premise of this series, basically, Larry David, the creator of Seinfeld plays himself, Larry David. The episodes build upon and refer to each other in many instances which is pretty hilarious in the context of many inside jokes. The way that Larry carries himself is absolutely hilarious. He is constantly taking casual dress to a new level and engaging in strange conversations with his strange friends. His wife is constantly shocked by his outlandish behavior which makes for great side-plot foundations. The sets always vary which is refreshing. My favorite episode is probably the one where Larry is tasked with getting an obituary written for a deceased family member. I won't give it away but it's great. In conclusion, if you're looking for sophisticated, dry humor, you will love this season and the others as well. If you don't buy this DVD, you should at least borrow it from your friend.
