I bought this model two weeks ago at a gourmet kitchen store. Cuisinart is a reputable brand and this model had all the features I was looking for. After using the machine daily for two weeks, I am already looking for a better coffee maker. Here are the shortcomings: The water receptacle is hard to reach, thus slopping water all over the counter. The grinder clogs and needs frequent cleaning. I've had to unclog mine three times in two. The carafe is difficult to pour; you nearly have to turn it completely upside down to get the coffee out. For nearly $200 you'd think the coffee would be hot, yet when you add milk, your drink is lukewarm and needs to be microwaved. What's the point? I am very disappointed with this product. I found my previous, much less costly, coffee maker was more convenient and satisfying. Cuisinart needs to consider it's product testing. The convenient burr grinder, however, does a decent job and the machine has three settings for coffee strength. In my opinion, this is not enough to offset the shortcomings - especially coffee that isn't hot. The manufacturer suggests rinsing the carafe with hot water before brewing, though that's not possible if you program the coffee to be ready when you awake. Please, Cuisinart, improve the heating element and improve the pouring efficiency of the carafe - at the minimum.
