Author's Review
Okay, I must admit, after drewling over the Cuisinart many times I always walked away because of the price tag that came with it...but I finally did it, I bought it and kick myself for not buying it earlier!
In case you are wondering, these are about $200.
Now I'm not a great cook but this little appliance is so handy. It has so many uses:
DOUGH: I use it all the time for making bread or pizza dough, I've made bagel dough in it as well.
SHREDING: It comes in sooo handy on Taco night, it does all the shreding, slicing, grating, etc. What a time saver. You can grate a block of cheese in about 10 seconds. This is especially handy when cheese goes on sale, I buy a large amount, shred it all and then freeze it.
SLICING: It comes with two slicing blades, one slightly thicker than the other. Cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, etc...you name it, it slices it! Once again, very fast.
CHOPING: The cusinart also comes with a chopping blade. This is one of my favorite uses, homeade salsa in about 5 minutes (or less). It has a pulse or "on" button so you can really monitor just how well those tomatoes (peppers, onions, etc.) get diced up.
It's clean up is a snap. I simply rinse right after I use it and that's it! The stainless steel blades are great - they stay extremely sharp and wash up easily. It is also safe to put all the plastic pieces in the dishwasher.
So go ahead, take the plunge, I bet you'll get your monies worth just like I did!
