Instant Yum!

I purchased the Cuisinart Cordless Rechargeable Hand Blender, Model CSB-44 for myself as an after Christmas gift. I found it on clearance for only $20.98 - an absolutely amazing deal. Ever since these little dynamos hit the market about 8 years ago I have wanted one. Actually, I purchased a one a long time ago that was returned after the first use because it was pathetic.

Cuisinart has put all their expertise behind this wonderful kitchen tool. It is quiet, quick, and easy to use, although I think arthritic users may find the "ON" button difficult to use. Instead of an ON/OFF switch, you must hold down this huge button on the very top of the stick, using your thumb. Cuisinart should re-think this because it is difficult and tires your hand out quickly. I would not want to puree a pot of soup with this machine.

I've made several different items with the hand blender and all came out perfectly. It is very efficient and whipped up milk for a latte in about 10 seconds. Eggs are nearly instantly whipped and it chops like a processor. I expect our menu to include lots of whipped, pureed, and chopped items this year.

Watch out for the cutting blade - it is sharp! There are two little vinyl covers for the blades that should not be discarded. Ouch - I already got bit!

If you are looking for a hand blender, this is the one. Although I got the best deal possible, I would pay $70 for this appliance. It is excellent and so much fun to use.
