A Toast to the Cuisinart CPT-120 Toaster!

by   donnamr ,  Mar 2, 2007
Pros: Easy to use & clean. Some useful special features.
Cons: Cancel button not much use.
The Bottom Line: I like the special features on this toaster, especially the "reheat" without extra darkening and the extra lift lever that pushes the toast further up for easy retrieval.
Review: The Cuisinart CPT-120 is by far the best toaster I've ever owned. Features The CRT-120 has two bread slots. Both are extra wide to accommodate bagels and other thick slices. The carriage control lever, which lifts the ...

Good toast comes in a small package (at last)

by   inspectortb ,  Aug 16, 2006
Pros: Easy-to-adjust browning; small footprint; (mostly) cool exterior
Cons: Bagel and defrost modes seem more gimmicky than useful
The Bottom Line: Just when I thought plain old toasters had become irrelevant, this little Cuisnart changed my mind. No more mediocre toaster ovens for me!
Review: This review continues the saga of my search for the perfect piece of toast. In my recent review of the Black & Decker TRO390 toaster oven I said that I wanted a versatile, reasonably priced appliance that wouldn’t hog space in my kitchen. The ...

Cool touch, Clear settings, High-Rise Carriage

by   wilson94t ,  Sep 23, 2004
Pros: Cool Touch, Good Browning, Clear Controls, High-Rise Carriage
Cons: Slides across table when changing settings, no one side browning option, crumb tray in rear.
The Bottom Line: A clean & simple looking toaster that won't burn your fingers.
Review: Straight up, my requirements for a toaster start with cool touch exterior, clear, easy to change controls and toast eject features. I am a bagel eater. That said, when I went to buy a toaster, I started at about $20 and worked my way up to over $70 ...

Toast of the Town

by   snowflake224 ,  Jan 2, 2007
Pros: Easy to understand controls, only needs one press to toast, defrost feature
Cons: bagel feature does not live up to hopes, no better than toaster oven
The Bottom Line: The Cuisinart 2-Slice Toaster defrosts, and toasts well, but does not live up to other expectations. I find it no better than a toaster oven.
Review: Background: Like many of the home and garden items I write about, the Cuisinart Cast Metal 2-slice toaster came into my life as a wedding gift. I did not register for this item, as we already have a toaster oven, but we decided to keep it because ...

Just make sure you pay generic money for this generic toaster.

by   cxed ,  Sep 20, 2008
Pros: Unless you overpaid for it, it's not substantially worse than a thrift store toaster.
Cons: Takes two cycles to actually toast anything. The "Easy-to-Use LED Controls" are 100% bogus.
The Bottom Line: I'd go to a thrift store or a garage sale to get a toaster before I'd buy one of these again.
Review: First I have to mention how I got this toaster because I feel like Amazon.com perpetrated something of a scam in this case. I wanted a blender and I picked one out on Amazon. Then there was some special deal that Amazon alerted me to where I could get ...

More expensive doesn't mean better!

by   myviewonthis ,  Jun 20, 2009
Pros: Attractive design. Has a fast cycle. Lift handle is good.
Cons: One side of bread is always darker than the other.
Review: After expensive kitchen remodel, I chose the Cuisinart Toaster to coordinate with my new appliances. One side of the bread is alwaysdarker than the other.  When adjusting the darkened burned side to normal, then the other side is not toasted ...

Toaster wanted, not burner

by   caiogirl ,  May 18, 2008
Pros: small footprint, compact, easy to use, white with white cord
Cons: burned food
Review: I bought this 2 slice toaster because it had all the qualifications I list as pros, and to replace a Cuisinart 4 slice toaster..kids are gone and smaller toaster is fine. BUT the toaster, at the lowest setting possible, burned everything...bread and ...

This Cuisinart Toaster DOES burn fingers

by   rocky69 ,  Aug 14, 2006
Pros: Does a decent job toasting, has ample capacity.
Cons: Proximity of toast extraction knob to hot top surface is a serious safety issue.
Review: My wife and I must vigorously disagree with a previous review. In fact, we have both sustained serious finger burns operating this appliance. The problem is that the metal top of the toaster gets very, very hot during operation, and the toast elevator ...
