Cruzan Mango Rum, Another Variant taste of Rum."How Sweet it is!"

I enjoy rum. I enjoy sweet rum. I enjoy Meyers brand rum and will have a Cruzan Mango Rum if the former is not available. Cruzan Mango Rum a nice tasting smooth flavoured rum that I wouldn't refuse but it is a bit too sweet and syrupy for me.

Fine Presentation

The bottles they use are a distinct frosted look with a clear label with touches of orange colour. The label has an image of a mango with the words, "The Taste Is Real" on it.  The 27.5 alcohol volume gives it an ever so slight bite.  We are reminded that this is Premium Cruzan Rum, with natural mango flavour.

A Taste of The Mango

The pour of Cruzan Mango rum is perfectly clear in colour and presents a sweet aroma like bubble gum. The product has a light to medium body and is a bit syrupy. In tasting the product neat I find the mango flavour slight yet true to the fruit. It's also quite sweet. The sugary taste to come out first. It's easy on the tongue and gives a very slight bite of alcohol moments later leaving an aftertaste on the pallet roof that remains to a dry sensation.

A Bit More

This rum is made by Cruzians, that's what the locals on the island of St Croix, US Virgin Islands call themselves. They have been around since 1760 at Estate Diamond just outside the town of Frederiksted. They do offer tours. The mango flavour is a newer addition to this company that's been around for centuries.

It seems to me that its also the younger people now who appreciate the nuances or perhaps sugary flavour of this and their other flavoured rum drinks. I have mixed feeling in regard to the mixed flavours. I like them when there's nothing else but give me a Meyers rum and I'm a very happy man.
