REVIEW: Crunch Cardio Salsa

This DVD has 8 segments. Each segment is 5 minutes, for a total of 40 minutes.

Merengue Combination

Samba Combination
Latin Funk Combination
Cool Down

The combinations are taught add-on style. You start with two moves. Then you are taught two more moves. Then you combine all four moves, and do them once or twice before moving on to the next combination.

The music is great. The instructor is so-so.

In the first two segments she really gives you a chance to get the moves down, before moving on. The following segments, seem like the moves are a lot more complex, and there just isn't enough instruction/time to really figure out how to do them properly.

The Merengue Salsa Combination is the toughest. Not so much because of the choreography, but because you do constant little skips through the entire 5 minutes.

Even though I had a tough time with some of the moves, I still managed to get my HR pretty high. I burned 9.4 calories per minute.

The more advanced exercisers, and those who don't have two left feet, might find this workout to easy, and trivial since not a lot of time is spent in each combination.

The cool-down does lower your HR, but there really isn't all that much stretching.

If you want to get just a taste of Salsa without a lot of complicated choreography, and you can laugh at your self if you don't get the moves, this one is for you.
