Crosley buyers; Next Time, Read the Epinions

11/23/07 Updt; after several weeks the other antenna finally arrived. It was identical to the one it came with and provided no improvement. During the wait tried the other components. The 33lp transfer to cd came out barely audio and the sound when played back sounded like someone stepped on the cat's tail.

The Mrs., thought it would be a great buy from Linen & Things for Father's Day.

Unpacked it and cosmetically it looks ok but as I read the warranty - Only 90 days! That said to me that reliability is in question.

Got it all set-up and tried the Audio - nothing but static. Called their Tech Support Line to find, "leave a message and we will get back to you, in 2 days!".

Persistence sometimes pays off and luckily reached a rep after 8 - 10 minutes and was told they have another antenna that might fix it and will ship one (may take 3 - 7 days). Tried my 300-75 converter antenna from my Sony receiver and it barely picked up a signal.

Their product catalog seems to offer an abundance of upgrades for it but one would think at $399.00 + tax it would be standard.

Although it indicates an ability to support CD-R & CW along with CD, VCD, JPEG & MPEG formats, the others have already commented on quality. It advertises that it can play 78's but the "specially designed 78 Needle" is an add-on at $24.95.

The front panel buttons just come across chinzy. Perhaps with them trying to get 10lbs of features in a 5lb bag is it any surprise that it only has a 90 day warranty.

Based on the other reviews, I don't think I'll wait... to return it.
