Creative Technology Zen V Plus (2 GB) MP3 Player

Let's face it. All we really want out of an MP3 player is something that will store, sort and play your music files. At first glance, this does just that. However, the unit has issues. I'm now on my 2nd one in less than one year. Both have failed for the exact same reason. The screen goes completely dark. Not dropped, not exposed to high temps. Just goes dark. If you look at it in a completely dark room, you'll see a very faint outline of what you should be able to see normally, but it's still not usable.

Timeline was like this: purchased, 100 days later, RMA'd to Creative for dark screen, new one arrives.
120 days later, screen goes dark again. Unit is tossed into the trash and another, non-Creative brand MP3 player is purchased.
