Love the size....lacking in durability
Date of Review: Dec 25, 2007
The Bottom Line: Love the size and functions however durability is unsatisfactory.
I received the Zen V for my birthday last year and had some trouble with the first one. It continually froze up especially when skipping though songs on shuffle. I dropped it once and after that the screen did not work right and eventually just stayed black. I found tech support to be really helpful. They continually emailed me explaining how to restart and clear my player. When nothing they told me to do worked I sent it in and was given a new one. The new one has only froze up once and has no problems as far as the software goes however the joystick broke. I'm not sure how it happened but it split in half and one half fell inside the player. I'm not sure if this was just a fluke because official reviews have found no problems with it although I have read consumer reviews who have had this problem also. I have filled up this size and have been contemplating upgrading to a larger format however the trouble I had before makes me hesitant. I absolutely love the size. It fits nicely into my pockets and I hardly notice it's there. The display is great, navigation easy and has great features but all in all I don't feel like risking the glitches I had before.
