Creative Technology Zen Micro Black (6 GB) MP3 Player

Have had my Zen micro since Christmas 2005. Been working fine, although some of the directions could be a little more thorough. Recently have had an incident where nothing would respond when turned on. Have rebooted to no avail. There are some warnings near the back of the information form that warn not to leave the device plugged into the charger for too long. The maximum is 3 hours, which means you have to watch continually check to make sure you not overcharging the battery. Which "creative" genius forgot to install a relay switch that would shut down the charger when fully charged! Another sour point, customer service is only available weekdays, during working hours.
