Could have been better, but still fun.

There aren't too many "party" games for the Playstation right now with the exception of sports titles and Bomberman. Personally, I'd like to see more. I'm a big RPG fan, and they're about all I have for titles, so its hard to find stuff to play when I have a lot of people over.

Crash Bash is a "party" game. I stress the term "pary" because I wouldn't play it single player. The single player mode just isn't any fun. However, when you have 1-3 more people with you, it can be a pretty good time.

In with the good, out with the bad:

Graphics:
Typical Crash 3D style environments.....just really tiny. The bad aspect of all this is that the arenas are all small. There are often times in which you cannot tell what is going on at all.

Gameplay:
This game is a blast when you're playing the battle mode with 2-4 players. There are always four players, so the computer controls whoever you're not.

When you play the adventure mode, however, it is fun, but really frustrating as well. You can only play with 1 or 2 players in this mode. There are 4 warp rooms, each with a set of games and a boss. All's fine until you start playing the games. Each game has 3 crystals, each with different challenges for that game (there are new challenges for each game when you reach the 4th warp room). You can choose any characters you want to play as (2 for good, 6 for evil, but 2 of the evil characters are forced to play for the good side) but during the competitions, the computer controlled team will wind up with advantages.

For example, in the 3rd warp room when playing the racing game, the computer starts 2 laps ahead of you on one task, and then on the 3rd challenge, you can't be hit by any missles, but they can (actually this "you can't be hit but they can" happens a lot). In other words, the computer has every ability available and you'll spend most of your time with handicaps. You'll find that you'll spend a lot of time repeating many of these challenges as they will become pretty difficult. On the plus side, all of the bosses are really, really easy to beat.

So, the game will become repetitive when constantly playing the same things over and over again. Especially since many of the games in each warp room are the same or similar to ones you play in previous warp rooms.

Also, control on a lot of the games can be pretty bad. The racing game is kind of difficult to handle as is the tank game which is probably the worst.

Sound
Not much to say here, really. Decent music and sound effects, but nothing spectacular, just average.
