What a Guy

Crash Bandicoot definitely has style. With his baggy shorts and jester grin, he can appeal to anyone. Sony made the right move in introducing this wily character to the video game mania.

Playability of Crash Bandicoot 2 is amazingly smooth and intuitive even with the 3-D layout of the levels. This is perhaps one of the only 3-D viewpoint games that I can play without getting all queasy inside. This excellent playability comes from the fact that although everything is in three dimensions the game progresses only in one direction, that way you don't have to worry about doubling back, turning around, or getting lost.

Secrets in the games are plentiful for those game players that get bored too easily after they finally beat the big boss. There are lots of levels to progress through so a quick win isn't an easy thing to do. With three islands and about 15 levels on each, you shouldn't be worried about out-lasting the fun.

My favorite levels are the two Indiana Jones type levels where Crash is being chased down the screen by a giant bowling ball, and the two wild boar levels where you're screaming through the jungles on the back of a big fat pig. These levels really test speed, agility, and timing.
