Cute, effective humidifier

We received this as a shower gift, and I put it into use when I had a cold while pregnant, long before the baby was due.  It didn't really suit our master bedroom's decor, but it did a fine job humidifying the air to the exact degree I desired and was much quieter than other humidifiers I've tried in the past. 

Once in the baby's room (where it suited our animal theme quite nicely), it was fantastic for my son over the dry winter months.  It gives a great deal of control over how much moisture it produces, which allows you to crank it right up for bitterly cold nights or times when Junior has a cold, and turn it back down when not as needed.

The tank is large and will run continuously on its highest setting all night long.  On lower settings it would likely be able to run up to 72 hours straight, though I'd recommend changing the water every 24 to prevent algae and bacterial buildup and redistribution.  I did make the mistake this summer of leaving it off for a couple of weeks with water still in the tank and found it quite difficult to clean, even after having run vinegar and disinfectant through it.  That was mostly my own fault, however.

I've never had a problem with reliability.  We've been using it regularly for over a year now, and it's still going strong.  For the cuteness and price point, I'd highly recommend it.  Though I see a few reviewers have purchased defective ones, so it's probably worth keeping the box and receipt for awhile.

The one truly annoying part about it is the inability to turn off the bright blue nightlight that shines through the tank.  While pretty, it was a problem while I was using it for myself.  My son doesn't mind it yet, but assuming it keeps functioning, that'll probably be the factor that makes us give it up in future.
