Country Weekly & Country Music Are Hotter Than Ever! Sexy Cowboys Hot Songs!
Date of Review: Jan 17, 2007
The Bottom Line: I was totally surprised about all the great interviews they get every time! Just perfect scoop of what is going on without being nasty to anybody.
PLAY SOMETHING COUNTRY! I do not read too many magazines these days. I certainly do not subscribe to them. My subscription to this magazine was purely a spur of the moment gift from my husband.
When the first issue arrived I was not highly impressed thinking it was one of those freebies you get after entering to the sweepstakes.
But I must admit that when I finally opened the darned thing I was more than surprised. There was many different areas that I actually found myself reading and some articles I just had to read again on time to catch the whole story.
So here is my hodown to the Country Weekly Magazine with the good and bad:
Inside the frontcover you will get so called
hot shots! I am staring at Ken Chesney wearing a sweatshirt and a beanie. Keith Anderson hugging a sport mascot after raising over ten grand for Toys for Tots. Le Ann Rimes hugging an Iraq War Hero in a rehibilitation center.
There is also photos of Sara Evans with Jerry Springer and Vince Gill in XM Satellite Radio. I feel like I am reading
a country version of Inquirer!
But thankfully it does get much better. Next section has readers comments and some actually sound like they were from true readers. Short comment from the editor Bill Gubbins and a sweepstakes to enter. All good!
Then I get to
Just In section. Kenny will produce Willie Nelsons next album (that is huge!) Country stars will be all over Wheel of Fortune in February. Dolly donates to the hospital and Keith sees Nicole. I'm loving the magazine!
The Scoop! continues making this magazine to be a good runner up for Star. Few interesting spots like Rebas photos and Keith Anderson jumping on a harness.
But over last issues I have truly been impressed by the
get cookin'! section. Simple tasty easy to make recipes and latest issue does not disappoint! It tells you how to whip up a great Super Bowl party meal designed by Jack Williams. And I will be trying those meatballs and ribs for sure! Easy to follow simple instructions with every issue, they make me feel little like Martha Stewart and so far my family approves.
Next there is the
star style section. I am not overly convinced that after-party Smoothing Cream called Bed Head is making Danielle Pecks hair look glam but I do get smiles from the design. To get this you just have to either get the mag or the product =)
I love the opening full of country stars with their pets, who knew Josh Turner made a Christmas Card with a bloodhound instead of his wife?
Classic article about Lonestar with some great photos.
Behind the scenes look of Joe Nichols video making.
Then the cover story about Alan Jackson. Awesome photos of his house and great interview.
This magazine gets me digging into it little deeper than I usually do in every episode. The writers are good, photos great and storylines just work!
After reading this magazine for few months I feel like I do know little more about most of the singers out there without the scandal effect.
New talents are also scoped so when I do see them in a video first time I am better informed and do know where they came from and who is behind them.
Over all I am very pleased with this magazine, it does have some advertisements to scroll through but not nearly as much as most magazines I've read lately. And there is just so much info without crossing the line to learn from the singers. I am really looking forward to reading the main interview these days.
