If the price is right...
Pros:
It's cheap and Cosco usually is a reliable brand.
Cons:
The LATCH system is terrible.
The Bottom Line:
This is not a good option if you use Latch. I have heard it is a great seat if you use the belt positioners

Author's Review
First off, I have to admit, my experience with this seat is limited - I bought it on Wednesday, and it's back in the package patiently waiting for it's trip back to the store.
I bought this seat after looking at ratings (not reviews, I just glanced at the stars, thought, good enough! and bought it) and thought it'd be great for the price. Umm, opps.
Great Start!
This seat looks great! It's not bulky, the padding is a nice pattern and appealing in a blend-in-the-background kind of way.
The Weight/ Height restrictions looked good - 22 to 80 lbs, 34-52in. I figured it should last as long as I'd need a booster.
The cup holder can go on either side - which I like because my son loves using the cup holders and I like to switch which of my children is in the middle and which is behind me.
The 5 pt harness is similar to other Cosco seats - the button isn't too easy so my son won't be able to undo it, but, it still works great for me. Though I will elaborate more later.
The size is great - not too bulky, but comfortable for my son to sit in.
The instructions which I normally never look at proved to be very necessary and they were alright. Nothing to brag about, but, they did the job.
The Shaky Middle
Alright, I finished my initial examination - I was getting ready for a 6 hour road trip to my cousin's house and excited to try out the new seat. So I had my brother go install it for me (he needs the experience, right?) Okay, it was -20 out, and I didn't want to go outside. He came back confounded, even though he had installed the convertible seat successfully. So out I go and...
The installation
Okay, all I can say is WHAT???? Are you kidding me? I have a Cosco, I thought they were nice, easy to install seats. And why shouldn't they be? There is no reason for the pain I went though. I use Latch, the belts just don't work great in my van, esp. if the seat is in the middle seat where there is a lot of open space between it and the belt.
The bottom latch strap was great - just what I expected, easy to install and no hassle at all. the Top Anchorage Strap, however, is the reason I am returning this seat. The instructions even SHOW the easy, no hassle strap that comes with my other seat - but is that what it comes with, oh no it is not. It comes with one of those clips with three holes that you thread the strap though. And it is, as far as I could tell in the 1/2 hour I tried to install the thing, impossible to get a really tight fit. The best I did was unthread the whole thing, clip it, make it really tight and scream in frustration as the tightness slipped away as I re-threaded the thing per instructions.
5-pt harness
Now, it fit my son fine, but I am worried about if he grows. The highest strap is flush with his shoulders eeking toward being under them, and, although the seat claims it goes up to 52 in' I am worried the harness would be below his shoulders, instead of flush or a little above as is required. My son is kind of tall for a 2 year old - 37 in - and he has a long torso on top of that - but, still that's 15 in shorter than the seat claims it fits, and he's pushing the max on the straps.
The Bad Ending
We made it to my cousins and all - just fine. However, on the way back, I noticed that my as-tight-as-I-could-humanly-get-it job on the back anchorage strap wasn't holding up. My son kept getting angry because the seat kept sliding to the side all the time. I never could get it to work properly, so when we got home, out came the seat.
Now, I'm not saying this seat isn't for anyone. I honestly think it would make a great seat in three circumstances:
(1) If you use the Seat Belt to install.
(2) If you double-team on the top latch and get it tighter, and NEVER plan on moving the seat from seat-to-seat or car-to-car
(3) If you can replace the top strap with the normal kind that has a buckle which you adjust simply by pulling on the strap. Oddly enough, the bottom latch has the buckle type. I have no idea what possessed them to go with the loops for the top strap.
