What do you want for 60 bucks?

Date of Review: Oct 18, 2004

The Bottom Line:  Not a camera for someone who is picky about picture quality but will hold its own when important pictures are not the concern. What do you want for 60 bucks?!
I purchased this camera for my 6 year old son. He has been taking pictures since he was 4 and I thought it would be a great X-mas gift. Of course X-mas has not come yet but since the price of the camera was only 59 bucks and I could use one for work (without worrying about damaging my higher priced digital cameras) I decided to purchase one for myself.
This camera takes pretty good pictures for the price. I am quite happy with the ease of use and simple switching for either picture viewing picture taking or video taking. It does not take a brain surgeon to work this thing. My windows XP recognized the camera immediately and I was viewing pictures within seconds of plugging in the USB cable. I have not opened the users guide yet but I have a photography background and have worked with digital cameras for 6 years.
The video does not work with my windows media player but does work with quicktime. I have yet to install the included software.
All in all, if you want to have (or give) a digital camera and can't spend the money on a name brand camera, this is a camera to consider.
