Author's Review
This little wonder has prepared me for several job interviews and works wonderfully. I have used it to shear a full beard down to shaving length about 20 times and to trim my mustache weekly with no need for sharpening yet.
My brother had one of these trimmers and I was constantly using his, so on Christmas of 1997 he gave me my own. I have had my Conair trimmer for about 2½ years and it has never failed me as long as I place it back in the charger. I even have forgot to plug in the charger and still had it work for several trimming sessions before it ran out of juice. It retains a decent charge for a long time.
It comes with a charger that also acts as a holder for it as well as the beard comb, adjustable beard trimming attachment, lubricating/cleaning oil, and the cleaning brush.
The trimmer is simple to use and with the adjustable beard trimming attachment, you can get just the right length for your beard. I am not allowed to have a beard on my job, so when I started I used the trimmer without the beard attachment to shear down my beard (almost completely) to a length that wouldn't choke my electric razor.
Cleaning it is a breeze. Just take the brush that comes with it and dust the hairs off, turn it on for a second then off to move the blades and dust again. About once a month you'll need to oil the blades. Just put a drop of oil on the edge of the blades and turn the trimmer on for a few seconds, then turn it off and wipe all excess oil off and you're done.
It is made of hard plastic and case hardened steel. I have accidentally dropped it into the sink, toilet, bath tub and even stepped on it a few times (I am a very heavy person). This little trimmer is tough as nails.
Another thing is how quiet it is. It makes a low humming sound that is comparable to a honey bees wings. My electric razor is completely opposite making an obnoxious sound like a power transformer right before it blows crossed with an electric weed eater.
Besides the constant use I give it, my wife has used it before when I wasn't looking for her legs and it still does a great job. I guess I know what to get her for Christmas now. In all seriousness, I recommend this trimmer for any man who likes to wear a beard and keep it trim and sharp looking. I also recommend it for men who wear mustachios and need a good trimmer that doesn't need much maintenance.
