Pros: Great reviews! Peter David! Great articles!
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: From in-depth reporting, to great reviews and opinion pieces, CBG is a favorite monthly read of mine!
Review: Comic Buyers Guide(CBG) is a monthly magazine about comic books. In fact, it is the worlds longest-running magazine about comics, and one of the most respected! CBG covers the world of comics from the big companies (Marvel, DC), to ...

Pros: Great coverage of the comics field.
Cons: The newsprint ink rubs off and gets my hands dirty.
Review: Comics Buyers Guide comes out weekly and offers lots of news and commentary about comic books and related fields, along with feature articles about comic companies, characters, and comics history, and of course, lots of ads for comics and related...

Pros: All the comics news that's fit to print
Cons: Lacks the glitz that many fans might crave
Review: Don't be fooled by the title...Comic Buyer's Guide is about "investing" in comic books the way Time is about chronology.
What CBG really is, as a matter of fact, is a lovingly produced quality fanzine. Each... |

Pros: most current news
Cons: rest of the magaize
Review: The Comics Buyer's Guide is a weekly newspaper-like magazine that contains news about the comic industry and has a bunch of advertisements. Those are the only two reasons why I would suggest buying this magazine.
The news this magazine... |

Pros: trustworthy, good quality writers
Cons: often "dry" reading, fewer pages than ever before
The Bottom Line: Good for hardcore comic enthusiasts, but lacks the excitement that some readers want.
Review: I've been reading Comic Buyer's Guide, or CBG, since around 1990 when a friend turned me on to them. It was the heyday of comics back then. Speculation drove comic sales, which frequently sold into the millions of copies for a single comic book. A...

Pros: You can buy War comics with a better idea of how really valueless most of them are..
Cons: I think Aquaman comics are listed, as well.
Review: I find that buying "collector" comics can be a wonderful way of justifying your secret childish behavior by hiding it within a hobbyist classification.
I was very partial to Sgt. Rock comics growing up, as well as the GI COMBAT super... |
