Not bad, but there are better options

We started out looking for a dehumidifier to reduce allergies (dust mites, mold) for my daughter. We tried this model after reading several good reviews about the Comfort-Aire 50 pint model. When we received it, we found it was too loud for our living room. It did a reasonable job of dehumidifying and the bucket is of reasonable size, but said bucket was a bit awkward to put back in.

The big surprise for us was that one can buy essentially the same dehumidifier for $60 less at a local store. The guts of the Comfort-Aire are actually made by LG Electronics - and you can buy a 65 pint LG dehumidifier at Home Depot for ~$200. The LG actually has a more convenient bucket and is more stylish. Plus one has the convenience of buying from a local store with a 30 day return policy. We returned the 65-pint Comfort-Aire and purchased (locally) the LG 65 pint for a different part of the house.
