Author's Review
We received the city savvy select stroller in night rider along with the matching combi connection carseat. After 15 months of use, we are still in LOVE with this stroller--absolutely hate the carseat--but that's another review = )
Before our first child was born, we had plans to move to Asia once he was 3 months old. Therefore, having a lightweight, compact stroller that could be easily folded, carried, and lifted on and off of public transport as well as several flights of stairs into our flat was our highest priority. After trying multiple strollers on the market, Combi seemed the best choice for compact, lightweight, without being a basic umbrella stroller. Other combi strollers had a lower handle setting and both my husband & i found ourselves kicking the wheels as we walked (neither of us are tall). The City Savvy Select, however has a handle height 1" higher than other combi models (making it 40") and that was enough to allow us to walk with a normal stride.
The shoulder strap is GREAT and the fact that it takes our carseat is convenient during the winter months especially. I also loved that it was a bit smaller than most other single strollers and so I can almost always go places with it my fellow strolling mama's cannot. It is easily pushed with one hand, as well, if you need to carry the baby for awhile. The recline of the seat is also easy to use.
Things I'm not so wild about--the seat doesn't quite sit up to a full 90 degrees. My son doesn't seem to mind, but he is often sitting on the edge of his seat hanging onto the bar so he can sit up. I was really surprised the first time my son tried to stand up using the footrest & the entire back of the stroller (including where the harness straps are attached to) lifted up with him. He was able to stand on the footrest--much to his delight. It hasn't been a problem, I don't think he could fall out--but I was expecting the shoulder straps to keep him in a sitting position! Oh yes, this stroller does have a very small basket that isn't very convenient due to a bar running horizontally through the middle of it. I usually hang my diaper bag over the handles for easier access.
