What a horrible CD player!

My mother purchased this CD player, even though I advised her against it.. She should have listened to me. First of all, the audio quality is horrible, it sounds like I'm listening to on-hold music over the phone (and no it isn't the headphones, i've tried a range of headphones and speakers and they all sound horrible on this player but great on my Sony player).
Second, this player skips like crazy, even with anti-skip protection turned on. You can put the player on a flat surface and not touch it and it will skip.
The batter life is horrible also, it seems like it needs new batteries everyday.
And now it's having problems playing CDs at all, you put a CD in and it just says "disc".. I ran it with the door open to see what was happening and the cd barely spins, the motor is extremely weak. I got it worked by giving it a smack on a table but it still chokes if you try to skip too many tracks into a CD.
Oh well, you get what you pay for, I warned her!
