The Bottom Line: Excellent recommendation due to ease of installation and use and final sound quality.
Purchased the Clarion EQS746 7-Band Car Equalizer about 6 months ago to enhance the sound quality in my Mitsubishi Mighty Max truck. Let me say I would rather listen to the music in my truck now than in my house. I used to listen to my 25-watt JVC receiver until I just couldn't take the dry and lifeless sounds from my speakers anymore. This equalizer really did the trick for me. I now have more bass, treble and tonal quality than I know what to do with and all of the acoustical problems (flat,lifeless music from my speakers) have disappeared. The equalizer allows presetting the receiver's volume while controlling the volume from the equalizer(hands-off the receiver only to change CDs or radio stations). Rotary knobs makes music tailoring easy and its small size allows placement just about anywhere(crucial if you are limited on space). A separate bass control on the equalizer really allows me to crank up my 6 1/2" amplified Bazooka tube giving me the sound stage that I've been dreaming of in my truck. Doing all of the installations myself, I found it relatively easy to install(excellent instructions to guide you). Only downfall is the wiring supplied with the unit could be much longer in length.
With this equalizer, coupled with a good amp to drive your interior speakers and maybe, another to drive your bass would be all you need to keep your music and driving happy!!
