Cinderella II: Dreams Come True...Would Have Been Great on the Big Screen

"Cinderella II: Dreams Come True" is yet another installment from the classic Disney Stories. I was a bit worried about what I would think of this film seeing as how I was always a fan of the original Cinderella. I must say though that this this a good follow up movie. Of course, it does lack some of the sparkle that the movies had when Walt was in charge. Having said this I think that this is one of the best films made in recent times from Disney.
"Cinderella II: Dreams Come True" starts out feeling like it was the second tape of a 2 box set.

When I saw this advertised on television I was very surprised and excited. I guess I just never thought that I would ever see what happened after the first one ended.
There are some parts on the film that teach lessons to not only children, but I feel adults too. I don't want to give away the plot so I won't go into great detail about it, but...There is one scene that gives a message about being who you are and not trying to be something you are not. I personally feel that in this world today this is something that is important for children to learn.

The animation is pretty good, but I still love the classic look of the old pen and ink style. The voices for all the original characters is great. They are almost a perfect match. When I say the original characters, it is almost as though it is an extension of the original. Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother, the King, Gus, Jaque, the cats, I mean it is great to see all the guys again.

The soundtrack is the same as all the other newer movies. It contains songs that sound more popular than Disney soundtrack like. I would rather them not be so "popular", but that is just a personal thing. The music is very well done and have good lyrics.

I would say that anyone who liked Cinderella would like this film, or at least has to see it. I hope people take the time to rent or buy it. I wish that this film had been in theaters though. I would have loved to see it on the big screen with the whole experience. "Cinderella II: Dreams Come True" is a great family movie. My 3 year old loved it. We simply made a night of it.
