Author's Review
"Ciao Professore" is a story of Signor Sperelli, a teacher who was given an assignment to teach in a school in Corsano, Italy, but the Board of Education makes an error and sends him to CorZano, a ghetto town in the Naples area ridded with crime. Sperelli ends up teaching a half empty class at the Dell'Amici school (which most people in the town cannot pronounce properly in the Italian language), but he changes that by dragging all the absent kids -- all working real jobs to support their families -- into the classroom and eventually earning their respect.
However, Sperelli runs into a major obstacle -- Raffale Aiello, the troublemaker of the class, who gets hit by the teacher at their first encounter. Despite all odds, Sperelli tries his best to reach out to him. As for how the classroom experience turns out, all you need to do is rent the movie!
I highly recommend this movie to aspiring/current teachers who feel they have it rough keeping the class under control, for Signor's Sperelli's teaching experience is very inspiring. Other movies I recommend to this group of people are "Mr. Holland's Opus" and "Stand and Deliver" -- both about teachers that truly made a difference.
