2006 PT Cruiser: I’m ashamed to say it’s actually a great car

by   puckmugger ,  Oct 4, 2006
Pros: It's quiet, peppy for an entry priced car, handles and rides great
Cons: It's too dang cute for a man to drive, some slight ergonomic issues
The Bottom Line: As much as I want to despise the PT for sickening cuteness, I'm ashamed to admit it's a fine automobile. I'd recommend it to any . . . er, woman.
Review: It’s a dismal thing It’s a dismal thing for any real man to be seen driving about in a Volkswagen Bug, a Mazda Miata or a P.T. Cruiser. These cars might not be specifically made for women. But, there is little doubt that women make up the ...

My New 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser is Mighty Fine!

by   pantazis5 ,  Oct 1, 2006
Pros: pretty, easy to drive, fun
Cons: some difficulty with temperature control
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended! A real beauty!
Review: My New 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser is MIGHTY FINE! I have been in need of a new car for a year or so now. But alas, finances being what they are have kept me from purchasing anything. I have been driving my old 93 Dodge Caravan for about 13 years now, ...

PT Stands for "Priceless Treasure"

by   tomcruzcontrol ,  May 27, 2006
Pros: awesome styling inside and out, plenty of personal, passenger, cargo space in hardtop, silky ride
Cons: not the best gas mileage
The Bottom Line: With fantastic styling inside and out, loads of interior space, and a smooth, quiet ride, the Chrysler PT Cruiser epitomizes what the American driving experience should be.
Review: INTRODUCTION AND STYLING I drove the 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser hardtop with the base engine. For those of you who don't know, PT stands for "Personal Transportation". That's it. It's not "Performance Technology" or "Pleasurable Travels" or "Prowess ...

POWER to WEIGHT ratio - WHEEEEE!

by   captaingary76 ,  Nov 28, 2008
Pros: BEST bang for the buck I've ever seen, 150 horsepower in a light car!  AWESOME!
Cons: NONE! They're no longer giving them away for $11K now with the fuel crisis!
The Bottom Line: Almost impossible to beat for versatility and overall cost.  Great bang for the buck in performance with manual tranny!
Review: I own a '78 Ferrari for when it's time to suck up the road in the twisties.  However, I might drive it 120 miles a year, max.  I got rid of my truck and got a PT with the "HAND SHAKER."  I read in Consumers Reports that they were having a ...

A lot of convertible for the money!

by   ridgecruiser ,  Nov 8, 2006
Pros: Great power, great handling, great fun!
Cons: So-so paint on my example, seats uncomfortable for larger people.
The Bottom Line: If you don't need to haul more than four people and a few bags, this is one cool, classy, fun way to do it!
Review: In looking for a relatively inexpensive but fun second car for my wife we considered basic models of the HHR and Pt Cruiser. Then we spotted a Pt Cruiser Touring Convertible with the turbo engine and it was all over. We spent about $5K more than we ...

Great on gas, retro look, big on the inside!

by   herzo99 ,  Jun 23, 2006
Pros: Great to park, fantastic highway mileage 38 MPG!
Cons: Get a manual - cheaper, better on gas, more fun to drive!
The Bottom Line: This is a great small family car - you don't need a minivan if you only have one or two children. Spacious, comfortable and fun!
Review: I have heard people describe this car as a gas guzzling mini-van, which is quite frankly ridiculous as it is obviously neither of these things. My car: 2006 PT Cruiser (Manual) I chose this car based on the stated highway mileage, which ...

Better than I expected

by   paul_sabre ,  Dec 27, 2006
Pros: Utility, Ride, fun to drive, people still smile when they see one
Cons: I expected better mileage, needs more thigh support in the seat
Review: Bought a 2006 Touring Edition. I needed a vehicle to be able to haul a lot of musical gear on the weekends but still give good economy for my long commute to work. I first went to see the Chevy HHR, as it is a newer model, but the PT ride and refinement ...

I Would Buy Another In A Heartbeat

by   bradsarcade ,  Dec 1, 2006
Pros: Plenty of room. Classic car styling. Race car dash and gauges. Very comfortable. Amazing car.
Cons: No automatic lights. That's the only thing I would've liked. That sounds lazy of me.
Review: I've owned my PT Cruiser for six months. I waited six months to review so I would have a good knowledge of this particular car and any of its bugs. I've wanted a PT Cruiser since they came out because I love the styling. I play in a band and it's ...

Cruise Hollywood in the 2006 Chrysler PT

by   jo.com ,  Jan 15, 2007
Pros: Very cute; inexpensive; comfortable seats.
Cons: Gas mileage; lack of pickup.
The Bottom Line: For around the town use I really liked the PT Cruiser.
Review: We rented a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser for three weeks while in California. The features: The car we rented was the automatic Touring 4 door wagon with a 2.4L, 4 cylinder engine. It seats 5. This car had about 4,000 miles on it. The ...
