This is a simple vehicle that is good if you need a car that will get you around town and has a little bit of power. It does what I need it to do, and doesn't give me too much trouble. However, it does have one big problem- there is an upper coolant housing on the engine that is glued together that will crack over time. It is a design flaw of the engine. If you catch it early, it will cost you about $400 to replace. If you catch it late, count on replacing your water pump, belts, seals, and possibly even rods. It takes the repair bill up to $2000 or more. If your Sebring starts to overheat at any time, take it directly to a repair shop! And if you are buying one used, make sure to inspect the radiator area. If you see what looks like water spots, do not buy the car until the upper coolant housing is replaced. This is a good car, but you need to know that this upper coolant housing issue is there and can cost you a lot of time, hassle, headache, and money. Be sure to ask your dealer if the issue has been repaired before you buy it!
