Miss Dior Cherie: Very feminine
Date of Review: Apr 28, 2008
The Bottom Line: A delicious mix of fruit, flowers and sugary sweetness.
I bought myself a bottle of Christian Dior's Miss Dior Cherie while in Venice in December. Such a romantic and beautiful city needed a fragrance that was equally romantic and beautiful and this fragrance definitely fit the part.
The bottle caught my eye in the large fragrance section of an upscale department store. Among the flashy, glittery and colorful bottles, a simple and unassuming bottle caught my eye. Miss Dior Cherie packaging is classic, girly and very pretty. A simple yet elegant square glass bottle with a gorgeous silver bow on the cap.
I would describe the scent as sweet and fruity with soft floral notes. It's light, fresh and feminine. It has notes of mandarin, strawberry leaf, violet, jasmine, caramel popcorn, wild strawberry sorbet, musk, and patchouli. I personally don't smell caramel popcorn, but I can smell sugar, strawberry, citrus and jasmine.
This is a fragrance for the girly-girls. It's young, sweet and inviting. Although it's fruity, I'd describe it as a "warm" scent. I also use this primarily as a daytime scent.
The staying power is quite good, I can still smell it on myself at the end of a day. Or more accurately, my husband reports that he can still smell it when I crane my neck and ask him so!
The price for this fragrance is about $65 for 1.7oz at Macys, but with so many discount online retailer around now you can always find a good deal somewhere.
This is such a pretty fragrance. Is it a classic? Probably not. But it sure is pretty!
