Love It
Pros:
Too many to list.
Cons:
A few miniscule interior issues.
The Bottom Line:
It's a luxury car that can actually haul your luxury toys...for NOT a luxury price.

Author's Review
Okay, well, from the moment I saw the redesign of the Tahoe, I said to myself, "Self, if they redesign the Avalanche half as well as they did the Tahoe, I will buy one."
There is was...the first glimpse of it. Beautiful from headlights to tailpipe. I went to the dealership and was a little disappointed with the color selection. I'm sick of gray, silver, black, and white. Give me a color that "jumps out at me!" Then, as we went out back...there it was...Sunburst Orange. I loved it.
I've only had the truck for a month but it's everything I wanted/needed and more. The midgate is so easy and quick to open, the lockable storage is amazing (and great for tailgating!). Everybody who gets in the truck thinks that they're in a Cadillac. The seats are amazingly comfortable (power heated leather). The "bum-warmers" really crank...and fast...and the adjustable "heat" setting is a major plus.
There are a few things missing that I wish it had, but I'm sure in the upcoming model years they will fix these issues:
1. I'd like to have a sunglasses holder in the ceiling.
2. There is no place to put loose change.
3. The stereo controls are a bit off...It seems that I keep hitting the "Source" button (which changes the band) when I go to change the station...so maybe that could be moved.
Ride quality: Incredible for a truck (My girlfriend drives an Infiniti M35 and even she says that the Avalanche drives smoother). The engine switching from V8 to V4 is seamless and you don't feel it at all.
Gas Mileage: Could be better. Using cruise control for an entire tank I averaged about 21mpg. Normal driving I'm getting a little over 18. (Not bad for a truck of this size).
Interior: Extremely comfortable and roomy. The amenities are endless and other than the few things I mentioned above, it's one of the cleanest looking interiors.
Exterior: They nailed it on the head. The '06 and previous Avalanches looked ok...but the body panels didn't "flow" together and it looked like pieces on top of pieces. There are many that wish the '07 came with body armor...I'm glad it didn't.
All in All...you're not going to get much more bang for your buck out of a truck.
9.5 out of 10.
