Family sedan with fun value!
Pros:
Impressive performance, 18'' wheels are gorgeous, remote start, Bose sound system
Cons:
Fuel mileage not up to specs, no telescoping steering wheel, indistinguishable rear end.
The Bottom Line:
For under 30k, one would be hard pressed to match this car. It is much improved over previous model year Impalas. Great car for the money!

Author's Review
I have had my '06 SS for 1 month and let me say, WOW! Black with ebony leather interior, yeah! My car has me so excited that I wanted to write my very first review on Epinions, so I hope I do an adequate job for everyone. Chevrolet really did their homework and thought this one out. The Impala SS offers sleek styling as well as superior performance that will have any other car in its class seeing nothing but tail lights. The sound of the engine is great, and the Bose system which was specifically designed for the interior of this car sounds amazing. The 18'' wheels are beautiful, and pictures just don't do this car justice. The trunk is nice and large, and it offers a very quiet ride on the highway. One of the first things that I noticed about this car is that it is very tight. I can tell that it has a tuned sport suspension, but handles potholes well. This car is perfect for my job as a salesman as well as a nice family sedan on weekends. But the #1 reason I love this car is the performance. It is extremely quick, and braking is excellent. With 323 lbs. of torque, it will certainly get your passenger's attention. I don't notice the torque steer that people have mentioned in other blogs, and the handling is very good for a car of this size. Although rear wheel would be fun, the FWD platform makes sense for driving in the winter for those of us that don't use another car. Some downsides: At 6'7'', it would be nice to offer a telescoping steering wheel like some other cars in the price range. Also, the mileage, as I am averaging about 16/22 versus the claimed 18/28, but it's certainly worth it! All I want to do is drive this thing!
