2006 Chevrolet Impala: Can this car save General Motors?

Date of Review:  Apr 14, 2006
The Bottom Line: The 2006 Chevy Impala offers good performance on most fronts for a reasonable price.
Review: I recently had the opportunity to rent a 2006 Chevy Impala over five days. I drove the vehicle about 350 miles, with about half the mileage in the city and half on highways, which included some smaller roads through the foothills near Denver, CO...

Chevy's Stab at the Near Luxury Family Sedan Fall Woefully Short

Date of Review:  Jul 30, 2006
The Bottom Line: While the 2003 Chevrolet Impala represented the right balance of the luxury, roominess, power, and exterior beauty, the 2006/2007 Chevrolet Impala LS falls short on almost ever yardstick.
Review: As I stated in my review of the Courtyard by Marriott in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, its rare that I have occasion to travel for business purposes these days, which is just as well since getting through airport security in this post 9/11 world is a...

Where's the sport in the Super Sport? (new Impala SS)

Date of Review:  Aug 16, 2005
The Bottom Line: The Super Sport needs a lot more sport.
Review: The 2000-2005 Impala was a car I only once got excited about, and that's when my father-in-law informed me that his had gotten 35 miles-per-gallon on a tank of gas on the way from Arkansas to Michigan. The relatively recent re-introduction of the SS...

14 months with an SS and still very happy!

Date of Review:  Jan 30, 2007
The Bottom Line: If you're at all intrigued by the Impala, take a look at it, it's a great car as long as you keep its intended purpose in mind.
Review: When our twin boys arrived, increasing our family from one to three children under the age of 3, my VW Jetta turbo wagon was traded in on a new Toyota Sienna. Of course my wife was driving the Sienna, and I inherited her Mercury Mountaineer. Very...

Must be seen in person-looks and feels like a more expensive car

Date of Review:  Feb 2, 2006
The Bottom Line: Recommended. Value for the money is unsurpassed. Looks and feels like a more expensive car. Previous model was very reliable.
Review: The 2006 Chevy Impala that I am reviewing is actually my 72 yr. old mother's car. Impala LT in Glacier Blue with Grey interior and silver accents.I helped her pick it out and drove it home (she was too exhausted after crying on the way to the dealer...

Luxury with a Touch of Sport for the Family

Date of Review:  Jul 8, 2008
The Bottom Line: Good solid vehicle, with luxury and a touch of sport. It's fun to drive, it is quick, and yet comfortable on everyday roads.
Review: The 2006 Impala is built on an updated W-Body platform, which has been around for a couple decades now. In 1996, I bought a 1992 Lumina Euro with the 3.1L that was also a W-body and survived a harsh life before and during my ownership. All-in-all, I...

Chevy Impala V6

Date of Review:  Oct 8, 2008
The Bottom Line: I would buy this car again, it is a comfortable blend of economy and luxury.
Review: I have been impressed by two other Chevys I have owned so when I sold my last horse and traded my pick up in for a car I chose the Impala LT for the Chevy dependability and good gas mileage.

The LT model gives you a 3.5 V6 engine,...

Family sedan with fun value!

Date of Review:  Nov 14, 2005
The Bottom Line: For under 30k, one would be hard pressed to match this car. It is much improved over previous model year Impalas. Great car for the money!
Review: I have had my '06 SS for 1 month and let me say, WOW! Black with ebony leather interior, yeah! My car has me so excited that I wanted to write my very first review on Epinions, so I hope I do an adequate job for everyone. Chevrolet really did their...

The absolute best buy in the sports sedan category

Date of Review:  Jul 7, 2006
The Bottom Line: The new 2006 Chevrolet Impala SS is simply the best sports sedan available on the market today, is a compelling buy and easily competes with the very best foreign competition.
Review: This car is simply the best automobile Chevrolet has offered for sale in a very, very long time. It is a grand example of sports sedan combined with high quality highway cruiser with its powerful engine, superior fit and finish, quiet cabin...

The high performance V8 Impala SS returns!

Date of Review:  Oct 11, 2005
The Bottom Line: Quality built. Proven Chevy performance. Puts the "fun" back into driving. Can't you see me smiling?
Review: A few weeks ago I received a brochure from GM in the mail introducing the new 2006 Impala. On the front of the brochure is silver 2006 Impala SS. Looking at the photo I was not overly impressed. The new design looked stylish but in a generic way...
