2006 Chevrolet HHR

Pros: Great styling, unique view out, versatile cabin, mild and pleasant ride.

Cons: Decaf acceleration, feathery steering, some ergonomic annoyances, and a mooing exhaust note.

The Bottom Line: Like the PT Cruiser, the HHR is a likeable small wagon competing with several other likeable small wagons. If you love the looks, go for it. Otherwise, shop around.

The Bottom Line: A great car if you don't like big Cadillacs.

Review: Those are the exact words my Dad used after my test drive of the Chevy HHR. He elaborated by saying it was too small, not comfortable, poorly laid out controls and just plain ugly.

My response - I bought it.

Road Manners...

Pros: Ease of entry. Interior quality. MP3 jack. Dash storage. Economy. Audio quality. Relatively quiet ride.

Cons: Visibility.

The Bottom Line: I would not recommend this vehicle. If it looks cheap, it is probably cheaply made.

Cons: sickly exhaust note at medium to high revs, often viewed as a "me too" car

The Bottom Line: If you like the PT Cruiser but have Chevy brand loyalty, your vehicle has arrived.

Pros: The HHR is an eye catching vehicle offering a roomy interior and relatively smooth ride.

Cons: The interior design is bland. Gauges, seats, ergonametrics, etc. need a lot of work.

The Bottom Line: Only recommended for teenagers looking to impress or short-drive delivery persons.

Review: The title says it all for this new addition to the Chevy lineup for 2005-2006. Even though this machine obviously copies the Chrysler PT Cruiser, which has been a big success, the HHR doesn't quite make it especially inside the cabin.
