Author's Review

We have owned many vettes. The 2005 is the worst one! We wish we had waited and purchased the o6. The Dead Battery Syndrome (DBS) reared it's ugly head as soon as we took it home. We have replaced three batteries and it is sitting in the garge right now dead again. GM knows there is a problem and does not seem to care. They seem to think it is good customer service to keep replacing batteries thus leaving the owners stranded many times having to wait hours and hours for a tow (You cannot jump it when this happens!). They fail to realize that we can tell valets topark the car a certain way but they do not listen and we comeout to a dead battery. I suppose we could stop using valet but why should we? One would think this would be something they would consider if they studied the owners and their earnings.

As if the DBS was not enough, if you have to replace a single tire due to a mishapon the road, be prepared to replace all your tires even though there is nothing wrong with the other three. This is because GM put a discontinued tireon the Vette. As we all know the tires on the vette are not interchangable. If you were tojust change out one it would wear differently and affect the performance of the car. This was confirmed by our dealer so be careful with those tires! Otherwise it will cost you about $2,000.00! Expensive for one tire, don't you think?

We always have two vettes and we have decided to stoppurchasing them due to GM lack of attention to these problems. The price range that the vette is in has many other cars available that do care. Too bad we cannot buy American even if we want to!
