Great alternative for a compact SUV !
Pros:
Roominess seating gas mileage adequate power.
Cons:
Interior Typical low price plastics. OEM tires (Generals) good for only 35K-40K miles.
The Bottom Line:
An excellent value for the money and great gas mileage. Much lower price and more useful than a compact SUV.

We have the 2005 Chevrolet Colorado LS Crew Cab with 2.8L 4cyl engine. We have had it for a little over 3 years.I put a Lakeside topper (truck cap) on the back in matching Granite Blue color. We get compliments on this "dressy" little truck all the time. People mistake it for a compact SUV. And it is a great alternative for one. It will seat up to 6 if you have the front 60/40 bench seat option that we have. And the rear seat is comfortable for taller adults like my 6'-3" brother-in-law. The really great thing is it gets us 17-19mpg around town, and 24-27mpg on the hwy. The lower numbers include winter driving conditions here in Wisconsin and things such as head winds on the highway, traffic, etc. And, if you carry things like outboard motors, paint, lawn fertilizer, etc; you won't have the odor or hazard with the stuff in the covered pickup bed and topper. We have the locking differential with traction control, anti-lock brakes, front and side curtain air bags,Onstar, XM radio, remote locks, power windows, 6CD changer, and more. And it will pull our small 5X8 utility trailer with loads of gravel, or helping to move our college age daughters.
If GM just dressed up the interior a bit like their Chevy Aveo, this little truck would really turn some heads.
