Fun, affordable super-car performance, beautiful. But it's no Lexus. This car is more of a toy than a daily driver, but very good in all the important areas.

Author's Review
There are plenty of reviews on C5 corvettes, so let me be brief and to the point. This car is everything I had hoped for and I love it. That does not make it perfect, there are flaws here, but you have to be a realist.
The car will smoke just about everything on the road and you will find an endless supply of modifications and enhancements for these cars to make them as fast as you have the stones to drive. It is a head-turner, even with the new C6 on the street. Its fun, its affordable (for this type of vehicle) and the Corvette community is worth the price of admission alone.
Some of the positives:
1. Looks (in my opinion, the C5 is the best looking vette)
2. Performance (350Hp off the show-room floor)
3. Mileage! Yes, MPG's ! This car get 30MPG on the highway
4. Fun, Fun, Fun....
5. Your kids will think you are a god !
Some of the negatives:
1. Spotty build quality (mainly interior)
2. Cheap materials (it wont get confused with a Lexus)
3. Insurance costs
4. EATS TIRES (Goodyear wanted $1800 for new set of OEM's)
5. Noise (Lots of road noise, tire noise, air leaks)
You can change some of the negative. I changed the tires from the stock run-flats to Ultra-performance summer tires and that made a HUGE difference in ride quality and noise. I insulated the entire interior by removing the carpet and applying insulation, much better.
Is this car perfect? Not by a long-shot, but I would not have changed my purchase, I simply love the car. The engine has been trouble-free for 2-years now. I did have to replace the entire rear-end after the first year. That was disapointing, but covered under warranty. I HIGHLY recommend getting the extended warranty on these cars, most of the time that is a rip-off, but not here.
