Author's Review
We bought a used 2001 Chevy Suburban 2500, with a 6.0 liter engine about a year ago. We needed a bigger vehicle to pull our camping trailer, and since I was going to be trading in my '98 Chevy Tahoe, instead of my husband trading his truck, I really wanted the Suburban - if we could find a 3/4 ton in good shape at a reasonable price - and we did. Took a little looking, but we found a great one, almost by mistake. If I have problems with my vehicles, they tend to have really strange problems. Even my mechanic can't figure it out and we've had the same year and model of vehicle at the same time before! Anyway, this vehicle goes anywhere and can do anything as far as what we've needed and done with it. I've had only one problem with it, which was a computer chip that needed to be replaced and that was no big deal (and not such a weird problem)! This thing pulls our heavy 28 foot trailer like it wasn't even there. It feels extremely stable when towing and has the power to tow what we pull. It really has a great turning radius for the size of the vehicle, too. It runs great, looks great, hauls a ton of stuff and people, and with the running boards, it is not difficult to get in and out of. Even my mother-in-law can get in and out relatively easy, and she is short and has had each of her knees replaced. The only thing I can say is that sometimes it is a little hard to park in a tight spot, but actually, it is easier for me to park this than to park my husband's 1999 Chevy extended cab Silverado. In this day and age of gas prices, if you drive it everyday, you might go through some gas, but that is something you expect when you drive a big vehicle. I would personally suggest if you are like me, and you can find one or buy one new, to get the leather seats with the seat heaters. Had those in my Tahoe and really do miss them in this vehicle - but you can't always choose that when buying used vehicles!
