Worthless in the snow

First let me say this is a company truck and I would have known better than to buy it for this area but unless you put on chains it is not at all reliable on bad roads. Its a two wheel drive and doesn't apparently have positive traction because putting one tire on a gravel shoulder won't get you up a hill either. I'm talking about having weight in the back and a great brand of snow tires on the truck. My Buick Century with the same make of tires will boldly go where this pickup won't get halfway. Also, the clutch is not adjustable!! Whats up with that?? It can't cost Detroit that much money to install an adjustable rod somewhere in the linkage. The mechanic told me to just run it. That isn't the most comforting thought when I'm frequently 100 miles from home. I have a personal vehicle with a clutch that is adjustable but since I spend so much time in the Chevy, the Trooper gets abused because I try to use the clutch the same way as is necessary in the S-10. The truck has a chip called a body module or something that apparently keeps the dome light on as you walk to the house.. turns the radio off after 20 minutes...etc. This cost $412 to replace! Whats wrong with a pressure switch built into the door? I could live with a radio that quits when the key is off.
