Pros:
Handling/Power and the looks, until GM changed the "Nose" to look like an avalanche. Yuk!
Cons:
Transmission croaked way too soon! 65K miles (Showed NO tell tale signs of trouble :(
The Bottom Line:
Other than transmission, I will always buy a Silverado Z71
Perhaps sombody was having a bad day when they built my Trans.

I bought my Silverado used at a dealer, it had one owner other than myself. It is a 4x4 extended cab Z-71 with about 26,500 miles on it. A real nice well kept truck ,I loved it as soon as I drove it. Since then I did the basic things ..Oil changes @ 3000Mls Brakes & Tires/ washing waxing ,. Then without any tell tale sign whatsoever the Transmission slipped out of gear and then a few kablam kabooms kling klang Ugg. "DEAD".. Now this was at only 65,000 miles or so, the day before this truck was as sweet as ever...I just don't get it?? But $3200.00 Dollars later the dealer put in a 75,000-mile warranty rebuilt trans. and she's been working fine ever since. Oh, I paid $20,000 Dollars for the Truck from the start. I did however find out from others that had this type of transmission their's had Broke around 50-75 thousand miles as well. This is disappointing because I still will not get rid of this truck! I like everything else about it. I just hope this was one of those things that just happen, and is not going to affect everyone else with this year/make and Trans. A.Blew
