Pros: great little commuter and fantastic on gas
Cons: tends to drift in strong winds
Review: The biggest gas saver is in the small package of a Metro. I am the happy owner of a 99 Metro. This is the second one I've owned. If you want great gas mileage and a nice little commuter car the Metro is the answer.
I have gotten over 50 miles to... |

Pros: Low maintenance, dependability, price.
Cons: Kind of small, not very roomy for a tall person, small gas tank.
Review: The Chevy Metro is a great car. I have owned my 1999 Metro for a little over a year, and, knock on wood, have never had a problem with it. This car is perfect for me because I am a very small person (4ft. 11 in.) so I need a small car, and my seat is...

Pros: none
Cons: none
Review: It didn't fair too well with the cold weather - the passenger side door froze, and wouldn't shut at all, so we had to tie the door to the emergency brake; then the brakes went on it, then the muffler, and to top it off we got a crack in the windshield....

Review: 1999 Chevy Metro
I believe that the Chevy Metro is one of the best chevy products of 1999. You have a decision to buy the car fully loaded or not loaded. My car has just over fifty thousand miles on it and it's still running like it's... |

Pros: Low maintenance, easy to park, great gas mileage, roomy inside
Cons: Cheap carpeting but easily protected with floor mats.
Review: We bought this baby new in 1999 when we lived near Seattle, WA. It now has 97,000 miles on it and the only thing replaced was the usual, i.e. spark plugs, air filter, oil, wiper blades, tires and radiator cap. It gets around 45 mpg city driving and uses ...

Pros: Great gas mileage, Reliable, Handles well.
Cons: SMALL, noisy, low to the ground, cramped interior.
The Bottom Line: As a commuter car these work wonderfully...but don't buy one for the power.
Review: ...But you probably will want to upgrade after awhile. I drive a 99' Geo Metro. I am only 21, but after driving this car for a few years, I really want something more powerful and safe, that is higher up off of the ground.
My Geo is a 4 cylinder,... |

Pros: Gas mileage, low maintenance costs (oil changes, tires), cheap purchase price
Cons: "Weighted down feeling if carrying more than 1 passenger, no resale value, expensive replacement parts.
The Bottom Line: Best car I've ever owned. Would buy another one if Chevrolet made it. Buyer beware on buying used.
Review: I bought this car new in 3/2000 for commuting. It is a 4d LSi w/ a 5 speed manual transmission and currently has 158K miles. It has had no major problems other than maintenance type items, ex. tires, brakes, spark plugs, injectors cleaned, one burned ...

Pros: Gas mileage, price, safety/maneuverability, lots of usable space- hatchback
Cons: Nothing worth mentioning. The pros outweigh any cons.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this car due to the great gas mileage, maneuverability, low cost, good amount of space in back with seat folded down.
Review: I have been driving my Chevy Metro LSI since August 2002. I have driven it from Los Angeles to Chicago, from Chicago to St. Louis and all kinds of other places. I have to commute 1 1/2 hours- 2 hours each way to work 5 days a week and still love my ...
