The 3.8L Camaro: love it or leave it.

by   camaroguy21236 ,  Sep 13, 2006
Pros: Acceleration, Appearance, Ergonomics. What's not to love about an American RWD Coupe?
Cons: Inherent flaws in engine, rough ride. These cars tend not to age particularly gracefully.
The Bottom Line: If you're a teenager or a 20-something, I couldn't recommend it more highly. Older than that, think long and hard about creature comforts and ride quality. Is appearance worth it?
Review: I purchased my dream car in June of 2006, after researching for about a year. I had decided that a pony car was the only thing that would make me happy this side of a Corvette or a 911 and, being 17, that was clearly not going to happen. So I had it ...

An Excellent Car for the Money

by   namiej ,  Sep 11, 2004
Pros: Quick, handles well, fun to drive, and a feel-good car to drive!
Cons: Not much room in the back seat or for luggage.
The Bottom Line: I hight recommend this car to anyone. It's a fun car to drive and it's reliable!
Review: EXPERIENCE: I have owned 3 Camaros now. I began with a 1989 which I traded for a 1992. I still have the 1992, but we have added to the collection with a 1997. I have been very impressed with this car. We were originally planning on getting a Z-28. ...

Chevrolet Camaro, Terrific Car!

by   smokemunky ,  Jan 20, 2000
Pros: Fast, Sexxy, affordable, reliable
Cons: somewhat small for luggage
Review: I bought my car used, it is a 97... and I love it. I have been driving it for over a year now, and I haven't had a single problem with it yet. I am in college, so I have to make somewhat frequent road trips. Through all of the road trips I have made,...

In Love With The 1997 Camaro Z-28

by   Xanthmo2 ,  Sep 6, 2000
Pros: Performance, Styling, Options
Cons: Rattles, Season Restrictive driveability.
Review: I bought my 1997 Camaro Z-28 used in 1999, with 50,000 miles on it. I have previously owned 2 other Camaros, and a mustang, and will forever be a Camaro fan. I think the Car has an aggressive styling, a very sporty passenger compartment, and the...

1997 Camaro Convertable 30th Edition

by   carl.dickey ,  Jan 18, 2000
Pros: style; collectable model; fully accessable cockpit styling; reliability
Cons: None personally
Review: The enduring Camaro legend continues to grow in the same way and for the same reasons the Corvette is now carved in stone: performance, reliability, styling and just plain fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These powerful cars are relatively inexpensive compared to...

Best Bang For The Buck There Is

by   wootenins ,  Aug 21, 2001
Pros: Powerful, handles great, comfortable front seats, looks great
Cons: V-6 models come with sorry tires
The Bottom Line: I can't think of a better car for a young person or an older person that is still young at heart. Excellent!
Review: It really pains me that this excellent car may no longer be produced soon. I have absolutely no idea how its competition could be outselling it. The look, performance, and price of the Camaro is a package that simply can't be matched by any other car in...

Bring on the fun

by   wolfman224 ,  Apr 23, 2000
Pros: a killer car
Cons: not enough people buy them
Review: The Z28 doesn't need to make any apologies for what it is, it's a brute.

Pure and simple, its purpose in life is to make other lesser vehicles like Camrys, Accords and Escorts feel humble.

You don't buy a Z28 to be quiet and calm,...

Valkyre

by   wi_hunter2k ,  Apr 4, 2000
Pros: nice and fast
Cons: none
Review: The first question I usually get from people is what does VALKYRE stand for. Since Illinois only allows you seven letters I have to spell Valkyrie as Valkyre. I've often been asked if it's a girls name, Or the mythical Norse Goddess. Some people ask if...

Great Car for the Money

by   DalGap24 ,  May 4, 2000
Pros: Great car for the money. Smooth ride and handling.
Cons: Not enough leg room or trunk room.
Review: This is the all time best muscle car (in my opinion). I love the rack and pinion steering the dual exhaust (sports performance package) you can get on the V6. It handles great on every corner, sharp or not. It's very smooth on highways, city roads,...

Z28-My Midlife Crisis Car!

by   cfrisbie1 ,  Dec 13, 1999
Pros: Cool car, lots of power.
Cons: Not a family car, small back seat.
Review: I am a 39 year old female who teaches second grade and my daughter just graduated from high school. I thought it was time I did something for me. We were past the need for mini-vans and station wagons. All my friends drive sport utility vehicles but that...
