Just won't die...
Pros:
Nice driving, plenty of power from 4.3L, seemingly indestructable.
Cons:
Light rear end, stock stereo and speakers are awful, older vehicles apt to break downs.
The Bottom Line:
Perfect for the weekend boat or motorcycle tow, new drivers, a back up vehicle, or just about anything besides cross-country driving.

Author's Review
I bought this truck two weeks before I got my license in 2003. It was just what I wanted -- a truck I didn't have to take care of. It had high mileage (200k , now 300k ), an unknown history, a dent in the door, no carpet, and a sagging headliner.
I was really glad I found this truck, though. It was something I wouldn't have to baby and take super good care of, it was cheap, it was the 4.3V6, 5 speed, and it was a Chevrolet. I couldn't have been happier.
Well, two years later, this truck just keeps going and going. Only major problem that's surfaced was replacing the clutch. After 13 years and 300k miles, that's to be expected, though.
This truck truly lives up to the "like a rock" saying. I was hit by another vehicle ($500 damage to his vehicle), and ran into a tree on accident, and both times there was no damage to my vehicle. It starts quick and without problems, took off in 3rd gear from a dead stop when I was learning to drive, still has plenty of power, and is a joy to own. The 4.3L V6 provides plenty of power for every day driving and some towing or hauling. The truck handles "loose" compared to other vehicles, but I prefer it over the tight ultra-responsive steering of some vehicles. It's no sports car, and the back end will get fishy if you don't drive with your head. As another reviewer said as well, the back end is very light, and is especially noticeable in rain. I have spun tires at stoplights in the rain when I'm trying *not to* just because there is no weight on the rear tires. Large mirrors limit blind spots, and the way the windows and cab are set up, you have a good view of the road and your surroundings. The stock sound system sucks, plain and simple. For what I paid for this truck and the way I treat it, the bargain I've got is unbeleivable!
