A mid-sized car with little character

Date of Review:  May 11, 2002
The Bottom Line: With inadequate power, a blase interior, and 'plain Jane styling' the 1991 2.5 Lumina is only recommended if you can find one under $1,300.00.
Review: Looking for a car is very hard work, especially if you want to find cheap, reliable, and smooth transportation. For the past 3 Months I have been looking for a used 2nd car without luck. It is always convenient to have another car to rely on just in...

The Blue Bomber

Date of Review:  Aug 18, 2000
The Bottom Line: A solid buy if you want a stable freeway platform that's somewhat entertaining on curves, as long as you don't mind putting up with some flopping and squeaking.
Review: In the fall of 1997, our car was a rusted-out hulk of a 1985 Cavalier that was just safe enough to run for groceries, but not much more than that. It was getting pretty clear -- we either needed another car, or the one we had was going to bite us...

'91-'92 Lumina rear brakes a hazard!

Date of Review:  Mar 10, 2000
Review: This may be the first case when Chevy over designed a brake system. The rear brakes on Chevy's '91-'92 Luminas, before they introduced the anti-lock system on the model, are over designed to the point of being too delicate. When the car is driven in...

The Bottom Line: Well worht the money , safe and reliable
Review: I had to add my 2 cents worth concerning the '91 Chevy Lumina . Do I like the car ... Indeed. I am on my second '91 Lumina . ( For those that don't know , from 1991 through 1994 the car was essentially the same .. so why 2 '91 s ... because I bought...

Addressing the issues of Lumina ownership

Date of Review:  Jul 19, 2001
The Bottom Line: Good car for freeway trips, some shortcomings
Review: I no longer own this car but did for a long time and got to know it's quirks quite well. First though, some opinions on comfort, style, and driveability.

The Chevrolet Lumina shares a chassis with the Pontiac Grand Prix, Buick Regal, and...

Nothing but trouble

Date of Review:  Apr 26, 2003
The Bottom Line: I may have just had a lemon, but from talking to as many mechanics I did they all said the 3.1 did have some problems.
Review: I bought my Lumina in 1998 for driving to college and back, about a three hour trip. When I bought it, it was a very clean low mileage vehicle with only 36,xxx miles on it. I purchased it during the summer when the weather is relatively nice. Being...

'91 Chev Lumina Euro 3.1L review

Date of Review:  Apr 7, 2000
Review: I have a '91 Chev Lumina 4 door Euro with the 3.1L V6 putting out 140hp. I love the way my car looks, but the reliability of the brakes are awful. Lately I have been very lucky with brakes and have only had to take it in 4 or 5 times over the winter...

My Comfortable Lemon

Date of Review:  Jun 27, 2001
The Bottom Line: I would not recommend this car, it has left me stranded more than once.
Review: I bought my Chevy Lumina Euro new in 1991. It has had numerous problems since I purchased it. I have sank so much money into fixing this car, that I have not been able to purchase a new one yet. After my car sat in the rain one night, I took it...

1991 Chevy Lumina Euro 3.1L

Date of Review:  Nov 5, 2005
The Bottom Line: I love this car, but age is getting the best of it. I would buy another in a heartbeat.
Review: I purchased my 1991 2-door Euro with the 3.1 L engine in 1999 with 121,000 miles and drove it almost daily for five years. It's a reliable vehicle. The gas mileage is around 28 mpg on the highway (I have a leadfoot, but my boyfriend could coax 30-32...

Like the Energizer Bunny, Only Bigger and Faster

Date of Review:  Oct 15, 2000
Review: We bought this car used last year. It had 83,000 miles on it already, but still looked and ran great. Not much has changed, except now it has 104,000 miles, and still counting. This is a perfect family sedan. All of our three kids fit comfortably in...
