1991 Chevy Lumina Euro 3.1L

by   kandace454 ,  Nov 5, 2005
Pros: few blind spots; reliable; sporty; the BOSE speakers really last
Cons: factory tape radio/tape deck; no cup holders; no air bags
The Bottom Line: I love this car, but age is getting the best of it. I would buy another in a heartbeat.
Review: I purchased my 1991 2-door Euro with the 3.1 L engine in 1999 with 121,000 miles and drove it almost daily for five years. It's a reliable vehicle. The gas mileage is around 28 mpg on the highway (I have a leadfoot, but my boyfriend could coax 30-32 ...

Very Reliable

by   markh1611 ,  Nov 28, 2000
Pros: Very Inexpensive to Operate
Cons: Occasional Brake Noise
Review: I bought my 1991 Lumina Euro 3.1L V-6 because I wanted something a little sporty that I could still get my kids into. I also live in Michigan, so I wanted front-wheel drive. When I purchased this car in 1995 it had 52,000 miles on it, now it currently...

A true workhorse

by   kastellos ,  Jul 8, 2004
Pros: Outstanding reliability, great greenhouse.
Cons: None
Review: I bought my Lumina Euro 4dr in 1995. It had 30,000 mi. on it. It now has 185,000 and is still running strong. It has its original timing chain (or belt??) original rings, valves, fuel pump, transmission, water pump, etc. In fact, I have never had a ...

Awesome, second I've Owned

by   luminator ,  Sep 7, 2006
Pros: Power, options, sporty look and feel
Cons: the 2 door makes it hard to get out, under rust!
Review: This is the second Lumina I've owned, The first was a 1990 Euro which was ok untill it broke down, and with 190000 miles, what can you expect? Then, about 8 months ago, i purchused a 1991 Lumina Z34. This has a huge horse power increase from that of the ...

The Blue Bomber

by   Sunliner ,  Aug 18, 2000
Pros: Rock-Solid Freeway Ride; Torquey Motor; Entertaining in Curves
Cons: Floppy and Squeaky; Pig in a Parking Lot
The Bottom Line: A solid buy if you want a stable freeway platform that's somewhat entertaining on curves, as long as you don't mind putting up with some flopping and squeaking.
Review: In the fall of 1997, our car was a rusted-out hulk of a 1985 Cavalier that was just safe enough to run for groceries, but not much more than that. It was getting pretty clear -- we either needed another car, or the one we had was going to bite us. We...

'91 Chev Lumina Euro 3.1L review

by   ChevLumina91 ,  Apr 7, 2000
Pros: Exhaust sound, big car, comfortable, powerful engine, handles great
Cons: Brakes and wind noise.
Review: I have a '91 Chev Lumina 4 door Euro with the 3.1L V6 putting out 140hp. I love the way my car looks, but the reliability of the brakes are awful. Lately I have been very lucky with brakes and have only had to take it in 4 or 5 times over the winter (I...

The Bottom Line: Well worht the money , safe and reliable
Review: I had to add my 2 cents worth concerning the '91 Chevy Lumina . Do I like the car ... Indeed. I am on my second '91 Lumina . ( For those that don't know , from 1991 through 1994 the car was essentially the same .. so why 2 '91 s ... because I bought my...

This car is a tank

by   pinqkandi ,  Sep 9, 2000
Pros: Easy to drive, good handling, fun to drive, its like a tank - you can do whatever you want with it.
Cons: Could use a slightly larger engine (which is an option).
Review: I have a 1991 Lumina four door sedan model. Its a tank. I've put it through so much abuse, and it still runs great. Still has close to original acceleration and braking power - at 80,000 miles.

My 91 Lumina (I also have 1996 :-)) is my...

A very practical chevy

by   blazerdude ,  Jan 30, 2002
Pros: Pretty reliable, pretty powerful, and very pretty
Cons: very odd dash, uncomfortable seats, very bouncy ride, loud engine
The Bottom Line: IF you want a good decent around-the-town family sedan without the large price tag and the reliability, the lumina would be a great choice.
Review: MY friend bought this car about 2 years a go, and I have to say, this car has been through a lot. MY friend is not very gentle with cars, he hits the gas a lot, and drives too fast. This car just takes a licking and keeps on ticking. The engine is the...

1991 Lumina Great Car

by   dody59 ,  Mar 15, 2000
Pros: good ride and feel to it
Cons: tight fit for long legged people
Review: I purchased my 1991 Chevy Lumina used, but it has been one of the best cars I have ever owned. It's small enough where I don't feel like I'm driving a truck, yet roomy enough to fit 5-6 people. It has a smooth ride, with a comfortable interior....
