CAVS 203G Karaoke Player

I recently started a karaoke business and I bought the Cavs 203G primarily because it plays Super CD+G's. Super cd+g's are basically DVD's with over 1000 karaoke songs on them complete with graphics. The Super cd+g disc cost between $70.00 to $150.00 each, but with over 1200 songs on some that works out to about 13 cents a song. Plus each super cd+g is the equivalent to carrying about 80 CD+G's around at 15 songs each! So I carry 12 Super CD+G's and have about 9000 songs in my inventory instead of carrying 600 CD+G's!!! Well it's been 8 months since I bought the CAVS unit and I've done about 60 jobs and I have yet to have the CAVS disappoint me yet. The ease of use is excellent and the sound quality is great, however it is dependent on the recording on the disc's. I mean if the song was recorded bad no system will make it sound good. I can tell you that I can count the number of poor recordings on the Super cd+g's on one hand and that isn't a bad average in my book. My CAVS unit is mounted in a rack with my amp and light mixer and I have a small fan blowing on the equipment. I have had absolutely no trouble with heat shutdowns even when I forget to turn the fan on! I do play other disc formats on the CAVS and it has given no trouble here either. The only draw back, and I reaching to call it a draw back, is that it takes a little while longer to read and load the Super cd+g's than it does a cd+g. I guess that's because of the tremendous amount of info contained on a super cd+g. I will advise anyone who is thinking of buying super cd+g's to learn how to back them up, it's not hard you just need a dual layer DVD burner and 8.5 gig DVD's. They sell them at Best Buy. Also if you want to convert a bunch of your cd+g's to a single super cd+g CAVS will sell you a program for $30.00 that allows you to do that! I bought it and it works. I plan to buy another CAVS unit and add it to my set up in the very near future. All in all I will say I am very happy I decided to go the route of super cd+g's and I love the convenience and performance that my CAVS unit has given me so far!
