bringing double trouble to the Count and grim reaper again

Date of Review:  Dec 29, 2006
The Bottom Line: Nothing like destorying historic works of art to complete the day in the average life of a vampire hunger.
Review: I pre order Castlevania Portrait of Ruin in order to get the Castlevania bonus pack from GameStop which includes a soundtrack Cd and a stylus. After playing through the game and beating it how does it stick up to past Castlevania games read on to...

Whip, Crack, Away!

Date of Review:  Jan 23, 2007
The Bottom Line: More fun than a barrel of vampire monkeys. Castlevania nuts rejoyce.
Review: Do you retro?

It's easier to name the systems that a Castlevania title hasn't appeared on than all the others that have been graced with a visit from the Belmont clan. From humble beginnings as a clumsy action platformers to Zelda 2 style...

Old School Awesomeness.

Date of Review:  Feb 17, 2007
The Bottom Line: With gameplay in the same vein of SotN, and adding a second controllable charcter in the mix, Portrait of Ruin remains distinct while retaining what made earlier installments so enjoyable.
Review: Background
Upon getting a DS, I have gotten several games for it already, and the latest purchase I have made has been one of the most satisfying games I have played to date, a return to the good old days where games were complete and total...

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, Castlevania updated

Date of Review:  Dec 15, 2007
The Bottom Line: Awesome game
Review: The Castlevania series has been around since the days of the NES, and has seen all manner of different forms. From its origins as a side scrolling 2D action game to the promising yet lackluster 3D versions on the N64 and PS2, there's one clear...

Pretty generic in gameplay, rather disappointing graphics

Date of Review:  Mar 21, 2007
Review: CPR, as this game has come to be known, is, frankly speaking, a generic game in the Castlevania series. I'm glad I played it as a rental instead of shelling out $30 of good money for it. The storyline is both nondescript and nonexistent, and the...

Review: Castlevania: Portrait of Ruins enlivens the castle exploring franchise with a few new mechanics. Enter new themed worlds thru paintings, quest system, control the 2 main characters.
