Author's Review
The Casio Exilim was a great purchase for me. It's so slim, I can fit it in my pocket. Or, I can slip it in the underwater case (not included) and go take some pics or video in the pool.
Here are some of the features I found were helpful:
*30 different modes (portrait, video, underwater, sports, pets, e.c.t.).
*You can take video as well as record sound with no picture. This helps save memory as well as easier on the battery.
*The battery! I'm not a person who takes 200 pictures in a row, so I will tell you this- I used the camera for about five days, taking pictures, and in that time span, I used about a 1/3 of the battery. Impressive, huh?
*I've heard people say the size is difficult, but you don't know until you try. I have love, slender fingers so it fits fine in my hand. Those of you with chubby hands might not be able to hold it very good.
*The seven megs are great for an adult or child who just likes to snap pictures. The picture isn't wonderful, or camera phoneish, just inbetween.
*eBay makes the world go 'round. Now this camera can go 'round with the world! It has a eBay mode where you can take pictures exactly the right quality and size for eBay for "carefree uploading".
Not so great:
*The front plastic around the lens got scratched the first day I used it, I had something pointy in my pocket. Just stay away from pointy objects and you should be fine.
*The battery comes to you almost empty, you can take about three pictures, delete them all, repeat, and repeat again 'till the battery dies. Then you must fully charge it with the included charger.
*The internal memory? Three pictures at best quality. I had a hard time with this: Take picture, delete, snap, delete... so if you're sure you're going to keep this camera, make sure to buy a memory card, at least 1G I would suggest..
*What good is 3x zoom? I don't like it at all. But, hey, all cameras nowadays have 3x zoom.
If you're thinking about buying this product, I would say go for it.
