Good camera for daily use and travel
Pros:
Both 4:3 and 16:9 photo and video size
Good photo/video quality, MPEG-4 H.264 video
Cons:
No cradle for this model. Need to take out batter to charge.
The Bottom Line:
Enough feature to meet the daily use and travel. Worth the money. This is my second Casio Exilim and their quality can be trusted.

Author's Review
I am an Exilim fan. My 5M version works very well. My criteria are: at least 5M, video using mpeg (avi is way too big and I avoid it), photo and video size ratio should be 4:3 and 16:9 (new digital TV are all using 16:9), use SD card, with good review.
The options I have are: EX-Z77, EX-S880, EX-V7 and EX-V8. More expensive EX-S880 can shoot 8M photos which I dont need. EX-V7 does not have good review and EX-V8 cost a lot more (its 7x zoom is better than 3x in EX-Z77). So, EX-Z77 is an easy choice for me.
I bought this one so that I can shoot photo or video on my trip and do not need to carry my camcorder. With one 2GB SD card, I can shoot 80 min of HD size video or 1200 photos(5.3M). That is a big plus.
I am not a professional photographer. Photo quality is very decent to me. Low night photo is grainy like others. The video size is 848X480 or 640X480. It can not compare with those true-high definition video which you need to spend a big fortune, the quality is pretty nice on a 50 inch screen TV. There are lots of feature settings you can play with, face recognition, u-tube, etc.
The battery life seems to be OK. The body is sturdy. Buttons and menus are well designed and user-friendly.
