I'm Addicted to Sports
Date of Review: Oct 17, 2005
The Bottom Line: For a sports junkie, it provides countless hours of entertainment. Its great for general purposes, but don't expect earth shattering cinematic type of viewing.
I work a lot, but always find time for sports.(Just don't let my boss know, because that would lead to some yelling!) It is impossible to catch my favorite football team at work hypothetically, but it is possible with my little television that is snuck in on the weekends. I bought this tiny machine over a month ago, and it has worked out pretty well. Although it is nothing special, it works well for what it is designed for.
The 2.3 " screen has pretty decent color displays, as the over 39,000 pixels provide clarity that is worthy for portable televisions. It will not provide a great experience as a LCD TV, but it will allow you to watch games without any kind of visual annoyances. The colors seem to work just fine, and the anti-glare technology does a great job. This television allows for viewing on channels 2-69, and has no problems pulling down a signal from any of my local stations.
The build quality is tough as well, and it has responded without any problems after a short drop.(Once, I would not recommend throwing it around however!) The materials are great, and the antenna pulls in everything. However, the antenna does seem to be a bit fragile, so be cautious when using this television. Operation on 4 AA batteries have lasted around 3 hours, and it does connect with a power outlet.(If you buy the adaptor-it does not come with it)
Sound quality is the weakpoint, as it will not produce enough volume in noisy environments. However, if you plug in the earphones to the jack, you will have no problems. The sound quality is a bit tinny, but it is adequate sound power to your ears. The tuning is easy with the buttons, although the numbers on the band are a bit hard to read for people with bad eyesight.
Even with a few negative points, this blue unit takes care of sports addicts at work. That is why I recommend it, and it is easy to put in a jacket pocket.(Only about 5" in diamater, and weighs in at a half pound.) Casio does offer a 1 year parts and labor warranty, which is competitive with other brands. If you are looking for an easy to tote tv, then consider this one. It makes for a good sports buddy, and performs flawlessly at work!
