Pros: An authentic-sounding soldier's narrative.
Cons: Slow start in the first chapter, but it grows on you.
The Bottom Line: If you want to read about the Vietnam War, you should read this steady and methodical narrative.

Pros: A Vietnam story that concentrates on only one man, his thoughts, and his personal experiences
Cons: Starts a bit slow and ends a little too soon
